New Sublime is almost here!! The band will release their all-new, original song “Ensenada” on July 18th. This will be their first new music featuring Jakob Nowell, son of original and late lead singer Bradley Nowell, as the frontman of the band.
Expect that signature, classic Sublime sound – vibey and laid-back with a melancholy undertone.
The single will be the first release from the band’s highly anticipated upcoming album.
“‘Ensenada’ feels very personal,” Nowell stated. “The lyrics were inspired by our various encounters with love and how we feel. Sometimes things go south and you want to lash out in different ways. For me, it’s about how you can use absurdism as a defense mechanism to escape into your own world to avoid having to experience these intense, challenging feelings . It was also really cool to study the whole Sublime catalog and try to create something inspired by it with my Uncles. I poured a lot of myself into this record and at times it was very emotionally challenging. The entire time we’re working on it, it’s like my Dad was there, it’s like I could feel his presence. I hope the fans will hear that all we were trying to do was have fun and match that classic sound – and if they hear that then we did our job right.”
Looking ahead, the band is gearing up for a packed 2025 with headlining gigs at major festivals and shows, including Vans Warped Tour, Fear, Loathing, and Sublime in Las Vegas, Westville Music Bowl, and more.
We’re so pumped to bring this new release to The Fuse’s airwaves and look forward to future releases from the band!!

In December of 2023, Sublime announced that they were parting ways with Rome Ramirez at the close of 2024. Sublime with Rome was formed in 2009, toured for over 10 years, and released three original albums.
A few days after the announcement of Rome’s departure, Sublime announced that Jakob would be taking the reins as the new guitarist/ vocalist for his father’s band.
