Learn the history of the Fox River Locks while walking 1.5 miles of the 4 Appleton Locks. See how the hand-operated lock works by a current locktender, hear how the locks were built in the 1850s, the stories of the lockmasters and their families that lived in the adjacent lockhouses. How the locks were saved in the 1980s and 1990s and the restoration of the system 20 years ago by the Fox River Navigation System Authority. Lock historian - Christine Williams - will lead the group.
