APPLETON, Wis. — A former Kaukauna Middle School teacher will spend four months in jail for sending lewd messages to what he thought was a minor.
Ty Maki was convicted in Outagamie County Court on a reduced count of attempting to expose a child to harmful descriptions.
Maki contacted what he thought was a 15-year-old girl on the social media messaging app Kik earlier this year, turning the conversation to a sexual nature. It was actually an undercover Wausau police officer.
Maki was fired from his teaching position following his arrest.
