Over the weekend, My Chemical Romance (MCR) performed back-to-back night at the Hollywood Bowl in California. On the first night of the double performance, frontman Gerard Way told the crowd that they’d be working on a new album in 2027:
“Next year, we want to go make a record, so we’re probably not doing any shows and there’s no secret code to that… I mean, maybe if we get really rusty while we’re making something, we’ll be like, ‘alright, let call the band ‘Helena’ or something’, and we’ll show up. But seriously, we want to go do that and then hopefully we’ll see you guys in 2028.”
So keep your ears peeled for new MCR in 2028 and if you see a band performing somewhere called Helena or Emily or Boy Division or something similar, it might be My Chemical Romance.
