Cage The Elephant are back with a new song, “Dying In Reverse,” a hazy psych-rock track centered on starting over and leaving your old self behind.
Frontman Matthew Shultz describes the song as “a fresh start or a rebirth of sorts,” focused on letting go of ego, changing your perspective and finding a deeper purpose. He said:
“More in terms of death to ego, renewing the mind and heart. The journey of turning your perspective away from self in order to see more clearly through the lens of love and connect to deeper purpose.”
“Dying In Reverse” follows July’s “Beaches In Tennessee” and will appear on the EA Sports FC 27 soundtrack when the game drops September 25.
Up next, Cage The Elephant will perform at the NFL halftime show in Munich on November 15 during the New England Patriots vs. Detroit Lions game. The band will then return to Europe for a 2027 tour, wrapping March 1 at London’s Alexandra Palace.
