GREEN BAY, Wis. — A political group gets involved in the latest incident of duplicate absentee ballots being mailed in Green Bay.
The Center for Election Confidence has sent a letter to the Common Council regarding its investigation into the City Clerk’s office and plans to change ballot processing procedures.
CEC Chief Policy Counsel Caleb Hays says the fact that a similar incident happened this spring is concerning.
Green Bay officials say just over 5,000 duplicate absentee ballots for the August primary were mailed to residents in eight wards last month.
City Clerk Celestine Jeffreys has only issued a written statement saying there was a “printing error.”
