UPDATE: A spokesperson for the Oshkosh Corporation says Oshkosh Defense has surpassed production of 5,000 Next Generation Delivery Vehicles, and that the company is meeting the delivery schedule for the NGDV.
WASHINGTON, DC–The Oshkosh Corporation is recalling some of its new vehicles built for the U-S Postal Service. The recall notice filed with the National Transportation Safety Board notes that forty vehicles run the risk of having their rear wheels fall off.
The recall follows incidents involving two Next Generation Delivery Vehicles that lost wheels while driving. The issue deals with improperly installed bolts in the rear axles. Ten electric and 30 internal combustion engine models have been recalled.
