APPLETON, Wis–The residency of an area lawmaker is in question following a series of real estate transactions. A formal complaint against Representative Dave Murphy has been filed with the state Attorney General’s Office requesting an investigation.
The Appleton Post-Crescent reports real estate transaction records show Murphy and his wife sold their home along Ivy Trail in Greenville in the 56th Assembly District back in June, and on the same day, purchased a home along Bald Eagle Drive in the city of Appleton. That address is in the 52nd Assembly District, which is represented by Lee Snodgrass.
Murphy tells the newspaper that he is still living with friends in the district, and will be renting a residence to serve out the rest of his term.
