OSHKOSH, WI — A group at this year’s EAA Airventure is looking to get more women into the cockpits of commercial airliners. International Society of Women Airline Pilots Outreach Director Christina Halli says female airline pilots remain a rarity.
Halli says ISA 21 is dedicated to getting more women opportunities to fly for airlines.
Just five percent of the world’s airline pilots are women. Halli says females often feel unwelcome in the cockpit.
ISA 21 offers scholarships and mentoring programs for aspiring female pilots. Halli recommends young women give it a try.
Christina Halli has 40-years of airline service and is one of Delta’s highest ranking captains.
