Pearl Jam has been teasing us for some time now, with Eddie Vedder labeling their upcoming project as their “best work” and guitarist Mike McCready hinting that it will be a heavier, guitar-driven rock album. Now, with the release of “Dark Matter,” the title track from their eagerly awaited album due out on April 19th, we can determine whether or not they are on track to meet the high expectations they have set. Billboard provided a description of what to expect:
“The Rock Hall-inducted Seattle legends unleash ‘Dark Matter,’ a muscular romp of power chords, in-your-face bass, drum fills, and a late solo that could cut a can in half.”
Producer Andrew Watt reportedly recorded the LP at Rick Rubin’s Shangri-La studio in Malibu, California.

This summer, Pearl Jam will have the opportunity to showcase their new music during a series of trans-Atlantic performances. Highlights include headlining the BottleRock Festival in Napa Valley, CA, on May 25, and participating in festivals across the Iberian Peninsula in July.
