GREEN BAY — A Brown County jury spends the morning listening to a psychologist in the second phase in the Taylor Schabusiness murder trial. Jurors must now decide whether Schabusiness had a mental disease or defect at the time she killed and dismembered Shad Thyrion of Green Bay in 2022. She was convicted Wednesday of third degree sexual assault, first degree intentional homicide and mutilation of a corpse. Psychologist Dr. Diane Litton says she reviewed records in her evaluation of Schabusiness showing mental health issues at the age of 14.
Dr. Litton says her experience with Schabusiness has been unlike any she’s seen in her career.
If Schabusiness is found not guilty by reason of insanity she’d be committed to the Department of Health Services for incarceration.
