On January 5th, Matt Schultz was arrested when an employee of a hotel in New York City reported that they saw Schultz with handgun walking into a public restroom on the main floor of the hotel. When the police arrived they found two loaded gun in his hotel room.
Stay out of trouble for one year.
Per the New York Post, a plea deal has been accepted. Schultz plead guilty on three charges. Attempted criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm, and criminal possession of a weapon.
Shultz was told by a judge that he has to attend all his court dates and “stay out of trouble for one year. If he pulls this off two felony counts will be removed from his record and his sentence would be reduced to a one-year conditional release for a misdemeanor charge.
Currently, Cage the Elephant have no tour and no shows scheduled for 2023.
